St. Francis Tau Maple & Bronze Rosary - Handmade in Scotland

Price  $38.95

Antiqued Brass Cord Tau Rosary

25 1/2" Long

Rich in Franciscan symbolism, this handcrafted five-decade rosary combines dark maple beads, knotted rope and beautifully detailed bronze metalwork in a substantial devotional piece made for regular prayer.

The centerpiece depicts Saint Francis and the wolf surrounded by the beauty of creation, with trees, birds, and fish worked into the richly textured scene. On the reverse, lilies and bees surround the beloved words, “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.”

Below hangs a striking bronze Tau Cross, the sign Saint Francis embraced as a symbol of conversion, simplicity and a life centered on Christ. Francis stands with arms outstretched as part of the Tau itself, surrounded by doves. The reverse continues the textured design and features a small bee—a thoughtful symbol of prayer, work, and care for creation.

Handmade in Scotland, the rosary pairs the natural warmth and grain of dark maple with strong knotted rope and substantial bronze accents. The intentionally textured metalwork gives each detail depth and an aged character, creating a rosary designed to become even more meaningful through prayer, carrying, and use.

Created in 2026 to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the Transitus of Saint Francis, marking 800 years since his passage from earthly life in 1226.

Designed by Fiach O'Broin-Molloy and handmade in Paisley, Scotland.
