8mm Jade Bead Rosary with Antiqued Brass Tau Cross

27 1/2" Long

A beautiful expression of Franciscan faith and devotion, this substantial five-decade rosary pairs rich green jade beads with intricately detailed antiqued-brass metalwork.

The  originally designed centerpiece depicts Saint Francis surrounded by birds and creation, reflecting his deep love for all living things. Below hangs a striking sculptural Tau Cross, the sign Saint Francis embraced as a symbol of conversion, simplicity and a life centered on Christ. His outstretched arms become part of the Tau itself, while birds gather around him in detailed relief.

A small bee appears on the back of the cross—a thoughtful symbol of care for creation as well as the patience, attentiveness and quiet work that accompany a life of prayer.

The antiqued-brass finish brings depth and character to every detail, beautifully complemented by 8 mm natural jade beads in varied shades of moss and earthy green. Substantial in both size and weight, this rosary is designed to feel meaningful in the hands and to be used regularly in prayer.

Created in 2026 to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the Transitus of Saint Francis, marking 800 years since his passage from earthly life in 1226.

Designed by Fiach O'Broin-Molloy and handmade in Paisley, Scotland.
