Richly detailed from his Franciscan habit and cord to the animals gathered around him, each piece is handcrafted by Haitian metal artisans. Natural variations in the metal create finishes ranging from dark silver tones to warm, oiled bronze, giving every sculpture its own distinctive character.

After a series of apprenticeships with prominent Croix-des-Bouquets sculptors, Thenor Evenson opened his own shop at the age of 20.  An earthquake destroyed his shop, home and the home of his parents causing a tremendous setback for Thenor.  “Now I am supporting my parents and we are all forced to regroup, surviving on the money that I can make.”  Still, his spirit is indomitable. He smiles as he says, “Inspiration runs in my veins, giving much pleasure to me.”   In rebuilding his home and re-establishing security for his family, Thenor affirms, “We will never be discouraged. We will never give up.”
