American sculptor, Betti Richard, was commissioned by the Franciscan Friars to design a bronze statue of St. Francis for the courtyard of St. Francis of Assisi Church in New York City. The life size figure shows St. Francis kneeling in prayer before the large stone crucifix over the doors. This is a beautiful reproduction of the original statue.
