The Legacy of Juniper Serra

One cannot visit the great state of California without seeing the Missions of Juniper Serra., the Franciscan Frair who helped settle the entire region by creating what has become known as the California Missions. 

The man who proclaimed to people everywhere: Always forward, never look back, was a simple Franciscan Friar who came to proclaim the Gospel to Christ to a new and totally unknown world of the Native American who lived here long before Serra came to this Golden State.  His life and his ministry are not without conflict, loyalty, spirituality and suffering, all of the hallmarks that make his story both human and diving- a combination that is of life itself.
